Update: man charged following incident near NorthallertonUpdate 2 A man is due to appear at court today, 12 December 2025, charged with assaulting two police officers, and driving offences, in connection with this incident. The 31-year-old from Cardiff has been charged with assaulting two officers causing actual bodily harm, as well as dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified and without a licence. He is due to appear at York Magistrates Court.
Update 1 This is an update on the incident that happened alongside the south-bound A19, near Osmotherley, on Monday (8 December) afternoon. Following extensive enquiries and searches involving police dogs, a drone, and support from a police helicopter, we can confirm that all three suspects have now been arrested in connection with the investigation. Two of the men were arrested on Monday evening in Stokesley. They have been released on conditional bail. The third suspect was arrested on Tuesday evening with assistance from South Wales Police. He remains in custody at this time. The men are all aged in their early 30s and from the Cardiff area. Anyone with information or footage that could assist the investigation should call North Yorkshire Police on 101. Initial appeal issued on Monday 8 December 2025, 6.37pm We are urgently searching for three men who made off from officers on the A19 east of Northallerton this afternoon. A black Ford Kuga car was found abandoned at the Tontine, near Osmotherley, shortly before 3pm today. The car had failed to stop for police a short time earlier. Officers are now seeking three men who are believed to have been in the car, and may still be in the area. One of the men is described as white, with a dark beard. Another is described as Asian, with dark hair and a beard. North Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who has seen men in the area matching that description - or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage - to call police straight away.
